Is a lardlord responsible for removing any unwanted furniture from the furnitured flat I am renting?

furniture for flats

I have lived at my new place now for three weeks. The flat is fully furnitured but a fair bit of the furniture is not only very cheap but not to my housemates and my taste. Also we have bought quite a fair bits of our own furniture so the original cheap furniture is now just getting in the way. Is it the responsibility of the landlord to remove any unwanted furniture as he seems quite relluctent to do so? Any advice would be much appreciated.

That’s the way he rented it and I don’t think he is responsible for removing it and trying to figure out where to put it until the next renter.

Only if he advertised it as unfurnished, if so then legally he HAS to remove it. He could lose his license for falsifying public information

it is your responsibility to remove and store the furniture until you move out of your flat.

You should talk to him and ask if he wants the furniture for future rentals. What ever you do, DO NOT throw it away. He will make you pay for it when you move. You may have to rent a storage space and keep it there until you move.

He rented it furnished and expects that furniture to be there when you move..it is not his responsibility to do so, but most landlords will upon request IF AND ONLY IF they have a place to store it…Some landlords may own alot of rentals and not enough space to store unwanted furniture and cannot do this..some can..My landlord has lots of rentals, but the storage areas he has are packed and dont even have enough room to cram another small chair in…Keep in mind if he does have space and allows you to do so..or he will store it..make sure to write everything removed and have both of your signatures on it for when you do move there will be no question of what was stored…
