The airport parking lot charges different rates for different lengths of time. One hour in short term parking is $5.00 additional hours are $3.00; any car parked longer than 24 hours is charged $10.00 an hour for any amount of time exceeding 1 day. How much would a person be charged for parking in short term parking for 32 hours?

$5 for the first hour, plus
$69 for the rest of the first 24 hours ($3 * 23), plus
$80 for the time over 24 hours ($10 *
= $154. Better try the long-term lot instead.

1st hour is $5
2nd to 24th is $3 each yields $69
25th to32nd is $10 each yields $$80
total is $154….
but are you sure you got the rates correctly???or am i misunderstanding your quesion…..
i was assuming it should be cheaper to park longer

Hour 1: $5
Hours 2-24: $3 each 23 hours is $69
Hours 25-32: $10 and hour @ 8 Hours is $80
You’ll pay $154. You are probably better off in long term parking which can be significantly less. The airport, I am sure, is trying to discourage people from parking in short term parking for a substantial length of time.
