How busy are the theme parks in the UK during February half term?

short term parking

My children have a tendency to get really bored during the school holidays. I am constantly trying to think of fun activities for them to take part in, but struggle to come up with good ideas. My partner and I were thinking of going on a short break to Alton Towers for half term this year. I thought this would be good as there seems to be plenty of things to keep children occupied. However, I’ve heard these kinds of places can be a nightmare during the school holidays. Has anyone ever visited a theme park in the UK during the February half term period and was it unbearably busy?

I live near a small theme park in the New Forest: Paulton’s Park. It’s nowhere near the size of Alton Towers etc but it is cheaper and a good day’s entertainment.

I’ve been there at the height of the summer holidays. I have had to wait no more than two turns on the rides
