Westwood has some of the strictest parking anywhere in the universe. It is the home of the Parking Gestapo: jackboot-wearing, goose-stepping nazis who operate with the evil efficiency rarely seen in any government agency. Since there is so little parking in the area, these folks rule the area with an iron fist that Stalin would have envied. The limited, metered parking in the area is strictly enforced, and it’s virtually impossible to park there without violating some rule or simply running out of quarters. And much of Westwood is restricted parking, so you can’t even park without a sticker. I know of parking lots in Westwood Village, but you didn’t say where your hotel was so I don’t know if those will help you.

Have you ever seen the movie “Stir Crazy”, with Gene Wilder? There’s a scene in there where this short guy has a big guy in a, er, delicate situation. He’s got a pair of pliers around the guy’s ‘nads. That, my friend, is exactly your situation. They have you by the ‘nads with a big ol’ pair of Channelocks, and your only choice is to pay.

You think Obviousman above is exaggerating but with 25,000 UCLA students 1 or 2 miles away, you can imagine the circus….re. parking…..
