Go to your local housing office and ask them if they can help. Some councils will do a quick calculation to tell you if you are entitled to any help and how much you would get.

its all means tested, so it depends how much you earn and also how old you are as by council regulations you are not an adult an entitled to the full amount until you are 25.

Housing benefit for private rented places has just been replaced by Local Housing Allowance. This is based on the average price of a dwelling in that area and the size of place you need. eg a single person needs a one bedroomed place, a couple with a child need two bedrooms etc. Your local authority will have a set amount which is the maximum they will pay accordingly. Best thing is find out the rent, then go to Shelter or CAB, who should have had notification of these amounts. They can then tell you how much youll get and how much youll have to pay yourself.

depends on your age
and also, they wont pay full rent for the property unless you use both bedrooms for people … so if ur moving in alone .. they wont pay all because u only need one bedroom
