I was left a premesis by my mother 3 years ago and have rented it out at a `fraction of its market value on a verbal contract basis.Can i request an increase for its full value and request my tenant sighn short term agreement? How much notice do i have to give.?And what can i do if tenant refuses

If they are a tenant at will (pay month to month) with no long-term agreement you can raise the rates whenever. I would imagine you have to give at least a month of two notice. You can certainly request that they sign a lease/rental agreement.

depends on what your contract says, if its leasehold or freehold………..i think its worth asking a solicitor for best advice.

Give them notice that in 2 months time you will be altering the terms of lease. That will give them time to agree or find alternative accomodation.
