It varies from property to property and only the management of a particular flat can tell you the specifics. Generally, you pay for land-line telephone, gas, electricity, water, trash pickup, cable tv, parking etc. You don’t necessarily have to pay all of these. Some flats offer one or more of the above without any extra charge. You must shop around and start looking a few months in advance if at all possible to get the best deal. They may lure you in signing a lease contract the first day you visit the flat; never do that! Tell them you’ll come back. Always look around for more options. Some older properties that are not maintained properly will increase your monthly bills. Also bear in mind that you may have to make a one time deposit for some of the utilities in the beginning like phone and electricity. Always ask the management what utilities are included in the monthly rent and which ones you’ll have to pay. The more you shop around, the better deal you’ll get. Best wishes always.
